SYLLABUS
The
Course is divided into four main areas:
1.
FOUNDATION ANATOMY, PHYSIOLOGY AND PATHOLOGY This section aims
to provide students with a sound foundation level knowledge of anatomy and
physiology. This can be developed into an understanding of how pathophysiological
processes affect body functions, allowing students to integrate their knowledge
of anatomy and physiology with reflexology.
2.
ANATOMY AND PATHOLOGY OF THE FEET This module aims to provide students
with an understanding of the anatomy of the feet and common disorders which
affect the feet.
3.
PHILOSOPHY AND THEORY OF REFLEXOLOGY The historical development
of reflexology serves as an introduction to an examination of current theories
pertaining to the therapeutic applications of reflexology. The philosophies
of holism and reductionism are explored in relation to reflexology; and codes
of ethics and practice are covered.
4.
THE PRACTICE OF REFLEXOLOGY This module is largely devoted to the
development of practical skills in reflexology. In addition to a comprehensive
study of the reflexes, students will be instructed in client care, communication
skills, and stress management. |
